چکیده
Unilateral complete cleft lip and palate (UCLP) are congenital disabilities when a baby's or mouth does not form properly during early pregnancy. This retrospective study investigated the long-term effects of passive alveolar molding (PAM) nasoalveolar (NAM) on width maxillary growth parameters in children with UCLP. A UCLP was enrolled divided into two groups: PAM NAM. Cleft measurements were obtained at baseline regular intervals follow-up period. Maxillary also assessed, including arch width, dental occlusion, facial symmetry. Data analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square tests, linear regression models. collected from 52 patients according to inclusion criteria. The NAM group consisted 22 (mean age 3.98 ± 1.6 years) 12 BCLP mean 3.81 1.9 years. Fourteen 3.9 four 4.4 2.1 years included non-NAM group. It is concluded that results our suggest have significant impact reduction unilateral (UCLP).

Introduction: A study on the presentation of a modified beta function formula to predict maxillary arch form in patients with cleft palate (CLP) is of great importance. In order to have this information, this study was done to present a modified beta function formula for predicting upper dental arch of patients with cleft lip and palate (CLP) and to assess its accuracy. Since this information c...

This study aimed to evaluate the malocclusions of patients with a cleft lip and/or palate (CLP) and to compare malocclusion characteristics between subjects with a pre-foramen incisor cleft (PIC) and a trans-foramen incisor cleft (TIC). A cross-sectional study was conducted of 117 cleft patients (53 per cent male) aged 6-37 years (mean age 14.7 ± 7.4 years) who attended the Dental Specialty Cen...
متن کاملNasoalveolar Molding: A new Method for Cleft Lip and Palate Rehabilitation
Introduction: Cleft lip and palate is a congenital anomaly occurring in 3 in 1000 live birth. One the major concern in this patient is about cleft gap and its surgical problems. Several surgical and non-surgical procedures have been done to decrease this gap. They aimed to achieve the more esthetic results as well as feeding success. Nasoalveolar Molding (NAM) is a new method for reshaping nasa...

OBJECTIVE The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of presurgical nasoalveolar molding (PNAM) therapy on nasal and alveolar tissues in patients with unilateral cleft lip and palate. PATIENTS AND METHODS Twenty-two patients with a mean age of 23 days, having complete unilateral cleft lip and palate, were included in this prospective study. After the impressions were taken of the...
